  • Realization of a physicality that is consistently aligned, centered, and grounded, and development of the ability to return to or regain this state of being.
  • Increase in the awareness of and ability to release tension patterns that affect the quality and expression of movement, breath support, and characterization.
  • Understanding and use of the foundational principles that underlie all movement and that arise from the developmental patterns of human growth - breath support, core support, grounding, dynamic alignment, initiation, sequencing, and body organization, and their roles in creating characterizations.
  • Understanding and use of the foundational concepts of movement: intention, function/expression, stability/mobility, exertion/recuperation.
  • Development of an expressive range of gesture, movement dynamics, and awareness and use of space, in order to create honest characterizations and drive scenes.
  • Engender the ability to translate text analysis, dramaturgy, and character history, values, beliefs, and world-view into physical character.
  • Strengthen the ability to play an objective-related action strongly through movement, with or without text.
